Tribute to Ivan Aivazovsky

I made this quick project as a "palate cleanser" after my Lord of the Rings serie. I've been wanting to try some of Aivazovsky's tricks with light and translucency for a while now. He's not my favorite marine painter, but I like the way he cheats with light the same way we 3D artists do :) As always I tried to implement my material into a real environment.

I'm not completely satisfied with this material (darn foam!!) but I think it works pretty well with the right settings :)

The main challenge for this material was to achieve the translucent effect that make Aivazovsky paintings so special.
